To SSD or Not To SSD - TDR - National Repair Center
Have you been wondering, whether it would be a good idea to invest in an SSDD drive? Well wonder no more. Yes it is... However. It is costly.
The moment you add an SSD drvie to your system you will automatically notice that your system is at least 3 times faster. Some may notice 50x the speed increase. Here is why.
Think of an old HDD hard drive as a spinning plate. And in order to read anything on the disk you must spin it to the proper spot (seek time) and then read the stuff as it is spinning (read time)
When it comes to SSDs it is basically a non volatile memory chip that all it needs to do is get the correct register number t0o get the data from the memory chip. So there is no seek time and the read time is memory speed so it is very very fast!
each gigabyte of ssd is definitely more expensive than spinning disk. however! today you can get lucky with a 256 for $60-100 .. which means that for $100 you double triple or even 50x the speed of your machine.
Is it worth the price.. yes it is! There is no doubt about it! You must be a fool not to get an SSD. Even a small 64gb SSD drive just to put your operating system on would be the best thing you have spent your money on. Those can be found for $20 dollars!!
So do yourself a favor, Buy an SSD, and upgrade your machine. If you do not know how to transfer your operating system, then you can always count on us to transfer that for you! we will Clone and mount and make sure your system is running the best it could be!
